16-year-old boy arrested for allegedly raping a 4-year-old girl after luring her into his house in Dindoshi

Dindoshi police arrested a 16-year-old boy for allegedly raping a 4-year-old girl after luring her into his house under false pretenses.

According to the police, the incident happened on July 1at around 4 pm when the girl was playing in her building compound. The accused, who lives in the adjacent building, allegedly asked the girl to come to his house to watch cartoons to TV. When the girl reached his house, he immediately locked the door from inside and raped her. When the young girl began shouting and screaming, the boy panicked and dropped her outside her house.

The young girl reached home and complained to her mother, who along with her husband, rushed to the boy’s house. On being confronted, the boy and his family denied the incident.

The victim was sent for medical tests and, a case has been lodged by the Dindoshi police under Sections 363 (kidnapping), 376 (rape), 354 (sexual harassment) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC and section 5 & 6 (Punishment for aggravated penetrative sexual assault) of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO).

“The boy has been produced before the juvenile court and has been sent to the children’s home in Dongri,” said Dr. Vinay Kumar Rathod, DCP Zone 12.

One of the residents called the police control room and the information was relayed to the Dindoshi police. Two officers were rushed to the spot and the accused was detained. An FIR was registered and the victim was taken for medical examination. The accused was subsequently produced before the juvenile court the next morning and is now in the Children’s Remand Home in Dongri,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police Vinay Rathod, Zone XII.

The accused has been booked for kidnapping, rape, wrongful confinement and outraging modesty under the Indian Penal Code along with relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.
