Airline passenger makes lewd gestures at a CISF woman commando at IGI Airport
New Delhi,July5:Lewd comments to a woman proved costly for a passenger, as he soon found out that she was a CISF woman commando.
The incident took place at IGI Airport around 2:05 am on June 28, when a passenger, identified as Parshotam Lal, arrived at the GMR Help Desk Check-in Area to catch a flight to Kuwait. The commando, who was on duty in plain clothes, to keep an eye out for suspicious elements at Terminal 3, was near the help desk.
“Lal Initially started chatting with her and then soon misbehaved by showing an obscene gesture to a CISF woman commando deployed on the night shift at check-in Area of Terminal-3,” said a senior CISF officer.
“The complainant also said that when she questioned the man, he started staring at her. When she asked him to move away, the passenger shouted at her and refused to show his identity and other travel documents,” he added.
The woman commando then raised an alarm and the matter was brought to the notice of other CISF personnel deployed there. The police was called in and the man was arrested.
Police said preliminary investigations revealed that Lal was drunk.
Based on the complaint, a case under Section 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) of IPC was registered against Lal, said a senior police officer.
The CISF routinely deploys its commandos in plain clothes in the terminal to identify suspicious elements.
