Asus will launch the dual-camera toting ZenFone 3 Zoom and ZenFone AR in India in two months
New Delhi,May25:Asus will launch the dual-camera toting ZenFone 3 Zoom and the Tango-enabled — as well as Daydream-ready — ZenFone AR in India within two months. The company is simultaneously working on launching a couple of new products — the ZenFone 3 Zoom and ZenFone AR — that it announced at CES in January earlier this year and is looking to launch them in quick succession in the country.
“We’re going to be shortly launching the ZenFone 3 Zoom and the ZenFone AR in India,” Dinesh Sharma who is the director, Mobile Product Centre for ASUS India said while speaking exclusively with India Today Tech. “A fair time frame would be within two months,” he added.
Asus may not launch the ZenFone 3 Zoom and ZenFone AR together in one go though. “These products are ready so they could come one after the other. Which one comes first and which comes second, is something I cannot precisely confirm as of this moment,” Sharma said.
Sharma did not divulge any specifics around pricing. Only that the phones would be competitively priced at launch.
The ZenFone 3 Zoom which was launched at a starting price of $399 (roughly Rs 25,781) is now selling in the US at a base price of $329 (roughly Rs 21,264). The ZenFone AR, on the other hand, will sell in the US this summer at an undisclosed price tag.
The ZenFone 3 Zoom, which is successor to 2015’s ZenFone Zoom, comes with a dual camera system on the rear (12MP+12MP) consisting of one 25mm wide-angle lens and another 59mm lens with 2.3X optical zoom. The dual camera system is capable of achieving up to 12X digital zoom. Erstwhile, the phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor and is backed by a massive 5,000mAh battery.
