Baba Ramdev to train 1,900 BSF personnel in advanced yoga
New Delhi, June 22: The Border Security Force will soon send 1,900 personnel to Baba Ramdev’s yoga facility in Haridwar for advanced training.
BSF chief K.K. Sharma said on Tuesday that the aim was to have at least one yoga trainer in each platoon-level formation of the paramilitary force. A platoon, comprising about 35 personnel, is the smallest operational team in the force.
“More than 2,000 personnel have been trained in yoga till now. We got them trained at the Morarji Desai institute in Gujarat and the Patanjali Yogpeeth in Haridwar.”
“We now want to intensify this and hence we are sending 1,900 basic-trained personnel to Haridwar next month. Ramdev will himself train them,” Mr. Sharma said at an event to award the forces’ yoga team that got the first prize for participating at a International Yoga Day event here.
