Bengaluru hotel staff insults Kerala couple, Shafeeq-Divya: Denies room as they belong to two different religion
Bengaluru/Kerala, July 4: A copule from Kerala has faced insult from hotel employees in Bengaluru, in the name of their religion. A journalist from Thiruvananthapuram Shafeeq Subaida Hakeem and researcher DV Divya went Bengaluru for attending an interview. The incident happened this morning.
Employees of the Reception of the hotel has denied the room for them saying that they will not give a room for a Muslim and a Hindu together. The two were on their way to attend the interview at Bengaluru Law University. This happened at 9:30 am when they tried to take a room at Olive Residency near BMTC bus stand on Anibaru Road.
Shafeeq asked for a room till afternoon to take bath and other personal needs. But the employee asked the name and asked for an identity card. When Shafiq gave his identity card along with his wive’s id card, they become shocked and double checked the details and stared at both of them. He became emotional when he saw the names and religion of both of them in the identity card.
