Bengaluru to miss keeper Amrinder in AFC Cup final
Bengaluru, Oct 20 (IANS) Bengaluru FC will be without their first choice goalkeeper Amrinder Singh when they take on Iraqi club Quwa Al-Jawiya in the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Cup final in Doha on November 5.
Amrinder picked up his second yellow card of tournament in the semi-final second leg against Johor Darul Ta’zim on Wednesday.
The I-League champions became the first Indian side to reach the final of the continental meet edging past the Malayisan club 4-2 on aggregate.
The All India Football Federation (AIFF), it was learnt, received a mail from the AFC regarding the same.
Amrinder did not play the first two group matches, taking his place under the bar against Ayeyawady United in April, a match which Bengaluru won 0-1.
Lalthuammawia Ralte, who played a few group matches, is expected to take the custodian’s place.
