BJP is Bharatiya Jhoota Party: Congress
New Delhi [India], Dec. 21 (ANI): Dubbing BJP as the 'Bharatiya Jhoota Party', Congress party leader Madhu Yashki Goud on Wednesday said the BJP claims to curb corruption without bringing any political or tax reforms.
Goud's statement comes in the wake of the Election Commission's decision to write to the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) informing it about the decision to delist 200-odd political parties, which exist only on paper.
"I have been saying that the so called demonetisation to fight against corruption and black money is sham. Without bringing any political or tax reforms which is a major concern for corruption and black money, the so called claim of the Modi Sarkar of fighting against corruption is a failed matter. Mr Modi is a man of double standards. BJP is a beneficiary of chronic capitalism," Goud told ANI.
Goud further said that the EC's decision to write to the CBDT to expose Prime Minister Narendra Modi shows he has done nothing for past two-and-a-half years
"The election commission statement shows that PM Modi did nothing. He came to power by falsely accusing the opposition parties and claiming that he will fight against corruption and will bring transparency," Goud added.
Sources said the Election Commission suspects that most political parties could be money-laundering operations.
Political parties on the other hand claim that they declare most of their funds as having come from unnamed donors donating less than Rs. 20,000 each. The political parties by doing so get away without having to name the sources of their donations. (ANI)
