Srinagar/Jammu and Kashmir, July 8: On the death anniversary of Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist Burhan Wani, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has taken preventive measures in Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) to stop possible disturbances.

CRPF Public Relations Officer Rajesh Kumar said, “Security has been beefed up in the region. The night area domination has been strengthened.” Kumar said there is a possibility of militant organisations trying to instigate the youth to follow their directions.

While, the Pakistani media appear with glorifying stories of Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist Burhan Wani, who lead the team of terrorists to create problems among the Kashmiri people.

Wani had great influence among the ignorant children and youth of Kashmir as they think this terrorist was a hero. Wani used social media to create a heroic image to influence the Kashmiri youth, as their peaceless life made them unable to think or understand reality in its real sense.

Burhan Wani used to post on social media his pictures in which he carries modern weapons like machine guns and other military weapons which he has no right to use or carry or keep in possession. Only the security forces in the country are permitted to use those weapons. The government shall issue certain license to keep such weapons if applied for and if the authorities have clear information on the need for issuing the license.

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh yesterday chaired a high-level meeting to review the security scenario in Jammu and Kashmir ahead of Wani’s first death anniversary.

Successor of Burhan Wani killed

According to media reports, the self-styled successor of dead Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) commander Burhan Wani was killed in an encounter with security forces in the Tral region of Jammu and Kashmir on May 27, 2017. Reports say that Wani’s successor, Sabzar Ahmad Bhat, was gunned down in an encounter in Saimu Village. According to the sources, Sabzar Ahmad Bhat, son of Ghulam Hassan Bhat, was a resident of Ratsona village in Tral. He had taken over the anti-India terror operations of HM after Burhan Wani was killed.
