Chennai to witness the Monsoon surge for few more days
Chennai, June 29: The weather report claims that the city will be showered with drops of happiness for 3 days more.
Meanwhile the entire country is receiving rains of varying intensity, Chennai was not behind.
”Some areas in the city including Nandanam and Sardar Patel Road saw mild water-logging. Several netizens took to social media to report mild to medium showers with breeze and water-logging in Mylapore, Thiruvanmiyur, Sembakkam, Guindy and Mogappair. Naveen Prasad, a Twitter, user posted pictures of rain lashing Mylapore. The maximum temperature was 34 degrees Celsius, while the minimum hovered around 27.4 degrees. The met department has predicted Wednesday’s maximum and minimum temperature to be around 35 degrees and 27 degrees”, reports TOI.
“Scattered rain will continue for two or three days in Tamil Nadu and parts of Puducherry. The skies will be generally cloudy. There might be thunder showers in a few areas, said a duty officer at the Regional Meteorological Centre”, as reported in TOI.
Chennai has also surpassed its monthly average rainfall and has recorded 78 mm of rain against its monthly mean of 55.9 mm. Chennai also records more than 60% of its annual rainfall during this season. The met department has predicted Wednesday’s maximum and minimum temperature to be around 35 degrees and 27 degrees.
