Class ninth student of Noida commits suicide
NEW DELHI March 21, 2018: A 15-year-old student of class ninth of Noida committed suicide on Tuesday allegedly for scoring low marks, media reports said.
The family of the deceased alleged that the student of a private school in Delhi’s Mayur Vihar was being harassed by her teachers, forcing her to take the extreme step. The father of the deceased further alleged that the girl had earlier said that her SST teachers tried to touch her inappropriately, said the media reports.
The 15-year-old student was found hanging from the railing following which she was rushed to Kailash Hospital in Noida. The doctor of the hospital said she could not be revived, adding the cause for death could be known only after post-mortem examination.
Media reports said Superintendent of Police, Noida, Arun K Singh, said the girl was harassed by two schoolteachers who failed her intentionally in her examination. “A case has been registered under sections 306 & 506 IPC & POCSO Act. Further investigation is underway,” Singh said.
According to NDTV reports, the teenager’s parents had gone out on Tuesday and she was alone at her residence. On their return, the couple around 6 pm found the girl’s door locked from inside. On breaking open the door, they found her hanging. The teenager’s mother alleged that she often complained about two particular teachers who were very strict and scolded her frequently. The parents claimed that she had even stopped going to the school for this reason.
