Developers hopeful of solar tariff at Rs. 1.5 per unit
New Delhi [India], June 5 (ANI): In the wake of a decline in the cost of equipment and availing capital, developers are optimistic of a further reduction in solar power tariff to Rs. 1.5 a unit.
The revised rate is lower than that of coal-based power produced by the state-run National Thermal Power Corporation Limited (NTPC), which is capped at Rs 3.30 per unit.
The proceedings of the auction conducted for Bhadla Solar Park in the previous month witnessed solar power tariff hitting a new low of Rs 2.44 per unit, which can be attributed to falling prices of equipment cost and cheaper credit. (ANI)
