Expressway connecting Agra and Lucknow likely to be closed on October 23, 24
New Delhi,October 21: Writing a letter to Unnao District Magistrate for asking to stop use of Agra – Lucknow Expressway for the public on October 23 and 24 in light of Indian force Highway flying operation.
According to the reports stated that IAF is planning to conduct Highway Flying operations on October 24 on airstrip of Agra Lucknow Expressway, situated in state’s Unnao district.
The letter was written by Uttar Pradesh Expressways industrial development authority stating thatIt is to bring to your notice that due to Diwali vacation, lot of traffic is moving on the expressway.
Hence keeping in view the convenience to expressway users, it is proposed to stop use of Expressway for general public from 10:00 am on October 23 to 2:00 pm on October 24.
Meanwhile the Authority also ordered the District Magistrate to make necessary arrangements for the traffic and to deploy sufficient police force on October 24 to ensure safe flying operations.
“Necessary coordination and help may also be sought from District administration and Police Force of Kanpur Nagar and Lucknow to ensure smooth flow of traffic,” the letter further read.(ANI)
