Five of a family killed in shelling by Pakistan near LoC

NEW DELHI, March 18, 2018: Five members of a family were killed in a heavy shelling by Pakistani forces on Sunday morning near the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district, said media reports. Army troops were retaliating appropriately and effectively, the police said.

Choudhary Mohammad Ramzan, his wife and three minor sons were killed as shells hit their house in Devta Dhar village in Balakote sector. His two daughters were also injured, added the reports.

The shelling started around 7.45 am, Army spokesperson Lt Col Devender Anand said, adding that Pakistani troops were “specifically targeting civilian areas”.
