Ford Endeavour has many variants and discontinued models thanks to GST

New Delhi,July11:The new Ford Endeavour was launched back in Jan 2016, with 2 manual transmission and 4 automatic transmission options. Last month it was reported that Ford India had silently removed the manual transmission options from the line up.

This was in fact proved right when we checked Ford India site. The Endeavour page no longer shows the manual transmission variants. The variants of new Ford Endeavour which you can now purchase are – 2.2L AT Trend 4×2, 2.2L AT Titanium 4×2, and 3.2L 4×4 AT Titanium.

Speaking about the Endeavour’s performance in the market – It got off to a decent start. In fact it had a neck to neck sales performance through Jan to Nov 2016. But post Nov 2016, when Toyota launched the new gen Fortuner, sales declined. Ford Endeavour sales stood at just 335 units in the past month as against sales of Toyota Fortuner which stood at 2000 units.

Earlier this month, the facelifted Ford Endeavour was spotted on test. Rumors state that the automaker plans to augment the safety system for this new facelift which could be showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo in Delhi and go on sale thereafter. These cosmetic changes and new safety features could include a redesigned bumper, aggressive front grille and Autonomous Emergency Braking with detection of obstacles via radar and sensors to warn the driver or automatically apply brakes to avoid a crash.
