Girl Gangraped And Set Ablaze In Rajasthan

Jaipur June 25:In a shocking crime, a 14-year-old girl was gangraped by three men and set ablaze by her attackers.

The incident reportedly happened on Thursday night in Rawla town of Rajasthan. The three men, who spotted the girl at night on the rooftop of her house from a nearby home, climbed over to her home, overpowered and gangraped her.

The girl however did not tell the incident to her grandparents who were sleeping in the same house.

The three men who fled the house after raping her returned around 5 am in the morning. The victim told the police in her statement that they woke her up and then set her ablaze after pouring kerosene on her body.

The girl’s aunt who also lives in the neighbourhood heard her cries for help and rushed to her rescue and she was rushed to a hospital.

“The girl’s condition is serious, but stable. She is under observation of a team of doctors. We have launched a search for the three accused as they are missing since the incident was reported to the police,” a senior police officer said.

The three accused identified as Sonu, Vijay and Vikki are on the run.

According to the National Crime Records Bureau data, at least three cases of rape with minors are reported in Rajasthan every day.

Meanwhile, at least 900 cases of rape of minors and 600 sexual assault cases are reported annually in Rajasthan.
