Group of boys in UP 'sacrificed' the life of a friend in order to find a hidden treasure in  Bulandshahr

Lucknow,July5: A group of boys ‘sacrificed’ the life of a friend in order to find a hidden treasure. The incident, reported from Bulandshahr, took place on June 28.

The boys killed their friend Junaid after a maulvi told them that a treasure worth crores lay hidden underneath their house and sacrificing a human life can make it theirs. Lured by the temptation, the boys hatched a plan to kill their friend, hoping they would become billionaires overnight.

Junaid went missing on the night of June 28 after he had innocently fallen for his friends’ plan and gone on a trip to Secundarabad with them.

After he did not return home till late night, Junaid’s father enquired about his whereabouts with his friends. Junaid’s friends Rashid, Shadab, Zahid and Abid told his father that he had left for home long ago and they had no idea about where he was.

When Junaid did not turn up for days, his father Chiraguddin lodged a police complaint. When the police officers grilled the group, they confessed to the crime. Believing the treasure story of the maulvi, they had killed Junaid and thrown his dead body in the forest area of Aligarh’s Khaer region.

The police have recovered a knife and a scooter from them and have arrested Zaid, Shadab and Zahid. Two others are still absconding
