Immigration laws will improve jobs, wages for Americans: Trump
Washington D.C.[USA], March 1(ANI): President Donald Trump in his address to the joint session of the Congress asserted that enforcing immigration laws will improve jobs and wages for Americans.
"I believe that real and positive immigration reform is possible, as long as we focus on the following goals," Trump said.
Trump further said that the immigration laws would strengthen the country's security and also serve to restore respect for the laws.
"By finally enforcing immigration laws, we will raise wages, help unemployed, save billions of dollars and make our communities safer," he added.
Following on his electoral promise of tightening the borders and putting a stop to illegal immigration, Trump administration announced new directives under which undocumented migrants will be an enforcement priority, however, insisting the measures are not intended to produce "mass deportations."
Under the new directives, Secretary of Homeland Security John F. Kelly is to hire an additional 5,000 border agents and to empower state and local law
enforcement to support federal enforcement of immigration law.
At the platform Trump also vowed to 'protect the Second Amendment' which reads: "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."
He added, "We are going to keep radical Islamic terrorists the hell out of our country."(ANI)
