All India Radio are all set to be discontinue regional bulletins in major Indian languages
New Delhi, Jul 8 : A salient feature of Lutyen’s City and its information and entertainment would soon become a thing of the past.
But ‘change’ being an essence of life – the top echelons of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting believe the new move would only bring in qualitative improvement in the bulletins like clarity of language and perfection in pronunciation.
The government decision must be therefore also seen as a step towards “decentralisation” — giving more role and powers to the regional units run from various state capitals, sources said.
The regional bulletins in major Indian languages through state-run All India Radio are all set to be discontinued and a few such units in Delhi’s famous Akashvani Bhavan have been virtually shut, sources said here.
