Indian killed in UAE vehicle pile-up

Dubai, Dec 7 (IANS) A 60-year-old Indian man was killed in a pile-up traffic accident in Ras Al Khaimah city of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), a newspaper reported on Wednesday.

Four others received moderate to minor injuries in the 26-vehicle pile-up on the Sheikh Mohammed bin Salem road, the Khaleej Times reported.

The accident happened due to a dense fog and low visibility in the early peak hours, police sources said.

The unidentified Indian, who was the only passenger who sustained serious injuries, was rushed to a hospital in a critical condition.

“The victim sustained serious injuries and fractures, mainly in his head, and bled excessively due to the impact of the accident. He … could not survive,” the daily said.
