Justice for Swathi: Was she killed due to personal enmity?
Chennai, June 29: Five days after the Infosys techie was brutally killed at the Nungambakkam railway station in broad day light, the poilce have finally has something to hail upon. According to the investigating team, the reason behind the murder could be personal enmity.
Swathi had mentioned about a man stalking her few days before her murder on May 1oth. She told about to her parents and few friends. The CCTV footage hasn’t been much of help so far for the Chennai city police. The police believe that the suspect had stalked Swathi for at least two weeks.
After she was murdered at the station, her body lied on the station unattended for two hours. She was going to her work place and was waiting for a local train when she was attacked by an unidentified man who ripped her face off with a knife and later slit her throat off.
”Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa held a review meeting with top police officers on the law and order situation in the state, even as the city police doubled the number of teams probing the murder case from four to eight. City Police Commissioner T K Rajendren visited the Nungambakkkam railway station to hold inquiries with the eyewitnesses”, reports The New Indian Express.
Speaking to mediapersons at his residence in Choolaimedu, the slain techie’s father K Santhana Gopalakrishnan said, “I am really wounded by the public reaction, which was selfish. They were mute spectators. That’s my agony,” he said.
