Kejriwal was on Wednesday evening detained by police after he tried to meet the family of a retired soldier who committed suicide, the AAP said.
Delhi Tourism Minister and AAP leader Kapil Mishra tweeted that Kejriwal had been detained by Delhi Police when he tried to go to a police station where the dead soldier’s family had been detained earlier.
Meanwhile a police officer said that Gandhi was detained for the second time after “he attempted to disturb orderliness”.
“Rahul Gandhi has been detained again as he tried to enter the (Connaught Place) police station and attempted to disturb the orderliness and ambience of the area,” Joint Commissioner of Police Dependra Pathak told IANS.
