Moving van spotted outside Obama’s new home
New York, Jan 17 (IANS) A pack-and-mover company van has been spotted outside the new home of the outgoing first family of the US, as President Barack Obama prepares to leave the White House on January 20.
According to CBS News, the van arrived at the $4.3 million mansion in the residential neighbourhood of Kalorama. Some boxes were also seen outside the home.
The eight-bedroom home was built in 1928 and is 8,200 sq feet in area, according to Town and Country magazine, which published pictures of the home’s interior.
The images, taken before the home was sold in 2014, show the house features a living room fireplace, spacious backyard, two-car garage, six-burner stove and wet bar.
Obama on Sunday said his family will be happy to be out of the White House.
“I mean, the girls, obviously, you know, they are now of an age in which the constraints of Secret Service and bubbles and all that stuff has gotten pretty old,” Obama said.
“Michelle never fully took to the scrutiny. I mean, she’s thrived as a first lady, but it’s not her preference.”
The outgoing first family will jet out of Washington immediately after incoming President Donald Trump’s inauguration on Friday and they will first head to sunny Palm Springs in California, a much warmer climate.
