Olympian Anju Bobby George to resign from her post as sports council president

Thiruvanathapuram, June 22: Olympian Anju Bobby George, who courted controversy after alleging that Kerala Sports Minister E.P. Jayarajan insulted her, is alls et to resign from her post as state sports council president, reports said.

Some of the other sports council members including volleyball player Tom joseph, are also likely to offer their resignation.

The sports council is now holding a meeting and Anju Bobby George is expected to announce her decision. She has called a press conference at 2.30 and the members are likely to announce their decision there, TV reports said on wednesday.

Indian Hockey team captain P.R.Sreejesh and former athlete preeja sreedharan are also members of the council.

Anju Bobby George  was appointed as the sports council chief by the previous Oommen Chandy-led UDF government.
