Paytm relaunches PoS and payment bank service
NewDelhi,Nov29:Paytm was in the news last week when it launched its very own PoS (Point of Sale) service. However, the company quickly pulled the app due to some security concerns. Paytm’s Vijay Shekhar has now confirmed that the app is back online and ready for business. He gave out the information to the reporters during the Ascent Conclave.
Speaking during the initial launch and pullout, Shekhar said “After our launch, we have had several discussions with stakeholders on how we can make this process even more secure. Based on some suggestions from the industry, we have decided to add additional certifications and features before making it available to merchants.”
Paytm is currently one of the most popular online wallet services and is gearing up to open a payments bank service next month. Shekhar has mentioned that it won’t compete with other banks in terms of interest rates. The investors are on board with Paytm’s new venture and with the PoS service all set to give merchants a boost, the company couldn’t have asked for a better end to 2016.
