Radio jockey hacked to death in Kerala
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In a gruesome incident, a radio jockey (RJ) was hacked to death at 2 AM on Tuesday in his studio in Kerala’s capital Thiruvananthapuram. His friend was also injured in the attack.
Rajesh alias Rasikan Rajesh, 36, was also a mimicry artiste as well as a folk singer. According to media reports, the crime took place around 2 AM in the sound recording studio–Metro Studio–owned by Rajesh at Madavoor under Pallickal police station.
Unidentified assailants, who came in a red car, attacked Rajesh and his friend with sharp-edged weapon when they returned from a programme and were putting equipment back in the studio. Both were rushed to the hospital after police were alerted by local people who heard the commotion.
Rajesh succumbed to his injuries at Parilapplly while his friend Kuttan is undergoing treatment at Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital.
Rajesh had worked with Red FM as a RJ before joining Kerala FM station in Doha. He had returned recently from abroad and is survived by his wife and a son.
