Selling of chicken meat by CPR group of traders in Kozhikode at govt price
KOZHIKODE,July10: When the protest against the price fixed by the government by poultry traders are raging, the selling of chicken by a group of traders in Kozhikode is proving to be ideal.
The CPR group has come forward by selling chicken at the price fixed by the government. They are selling chicken at their 12 outlets across the city with a board outside announcing that chicken at the price fixed by the government is available. They supply chicken from their own farm, dress them and sell them at a rate of Rs. 157 per kg.
Meanwhile there are reports that a group of traders have come out against the CPR group who opened shops ignoring the strike called for by the traders. The manager of CPR group have complained to the police that they have received threat calls over the phone to shut their shops. They have also requested police protection to open their shops. The manager has said that they are ready to keep the shops open and continue selling chicken at the rate fixed the government if they are given police protection.
Finance Minister Dr. Thomas Isaac has informed that all protection will be provided for traders.
