Two terrorists gunned down in Kashmir encounter
NEW DELHI March 24, 2018: Two terrorists were gunned down in an encounter in Anantnag’s Dooru area on Friday night, media reports said on Saturday. Firing between security personnel and terrorists started on Friday night, after which two terrorists were gunned down.
Arms and ammunition were also recovered from the spot of the encounter, said the media reports.
Two Hizbul militants top commander Ashraf Molvi and his bodyguard Asif were killed in the encounter.
“Security personnel from the Rashtriya Rifles, Central Reserve Police Force and the Special Operations Group (SOG) of the state police surrounded Shistargam village on Friday evening following information about a group of holed-up militants,” said a police officer, according to media reports.
“As the cordon was tightened, the militants fired at the security forces triggering the gunfight,” police sources said.
The area has been cordoned off and internet and train services have also been suspended, added the reports.
