With demonetisation, exploitation of poor will be history: PM Modi
Deesa (Gujarat) [India], Dec. 10 (ANI): Asserting that demonetisation will curb the epidemic of corruption and black money, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said it would strengthen the poor, and also help to weaken terror activities.
"We took the decision on currency notes to strengthen the hands of the poor of the nation," said Prime Minister Modi while addressing a speech at the inaugural ceremony of a dairy plant in Deesa.
"With our step on currency notes, we have been successful in weakening the hands of terrorists, those in fake currency rackets," Modi said.
Prime Minister Modi urged the people to move towards digitization, which will not only help the economy, but also, save them from the pain of going to banks and standing in queues.
"I urge you all to integrate people with e-banking, e-wallets," he said.
Assuring people will see a new and better face of India, the Prime Minister said people will see things changing with demonetisation getting into place.
"These games of looting the poor and exploiting the middle classes will now be history," he said.
Prime Minister Modi, on November 8, announced a ban on the high-denomination currency notes worth Rs, 500 and Rs. 1000, after which new notes of Rs. 2000 were introduced in the Indian Monetary System for the first time. (ANI)
