Drinkers in Kerala can enjoy this Onam with Online Liquor

Thiruvananthapuram, Aug 18: Kerala State Co-operative Consumers Federation Ltd (Consumerfed), the apex body of the consumer co-operatives in the state, will sell liquor online for Onam.

Consumerfed announced that the move to provide liquor online has been taken to avoid the long queues seen in front of beverage outlets during the Onam day.

As the first step, liquor will be sold via online from Onam onwards, said consumerfed chairman M Mehboob at a press conference

59 types of liquor chosen from the ones sold by consumerfed will be sold online. The chairman said that this system is chosen in order to avoid the long queues witnessed in front of their outlets. The official announcement on the online sale will be made soon. The sale of liquor via consumerfed will be increased.

The consumerfed has been sealed as the center for corruption. If corruption is noticed, steps would be taken against the guilty, he said.

Consumerfed plans to provide liquor to consumers who have registered for the product through online.

Consumerfed will not provide door delivery right now.
