Former union minister Dr Najma Heptulla to be new Manipur Governor

Four new Governors : Dr. Najma Heptulla leads poll bounded Manipur
Imphal, Aug 17: Former union minister Dr Najma Heptulla will be appointed as the 18th Governor of Manipur.
Heptulla had resigned from the post of Minority Affairs Minister on July 12, after she crossed the 75-year age barrier set by the Narendra Modi-led government.
The former vice-president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will replace V. Shamuganathan, the Governor of Meghalaya, who has been looking after the state from September 30, 2015.
Official sources told India Live Today that Dr. Heptullah may be sworn in shortly.
