Hizbul uploads new ‘Wani’ like poster and vows to challenge the ‘enemy’

Delhi, July 23: Alarm bells have started ringing as the banned organization put up new posters in a bid to announce its resurrection after the death of its poster boy Burhan Wani.
Through the poster the Hizbul is seen challenging the “enemy” with an Urdu couplet that said, “Hum Jung ye jari rakhein gay, Kufar ko hum lalkareingey, Hum leke raheingey hak apna, duniya ko bata kar dum lengey,’’ Translated it meant “We will continue this war and fight the enemy. We will secure our rights and prove to the world.”
The posters carry a photo of 11 militants dressed in combat gear and holding AK-47s in an orchard.
Experts said that the poster was similar to a photograph through which Wani and 10 associates had announced their entry into armed insurgency two years ago. The photo which Wani uploaded went viral making him an icon and ushered in a new age in the timeline of militancy. But experts pointed out that the Wani picture was a far cry from the one that the Hizbul now posted.
“The Burhan picture was full of life, the boys appeared stylish and suave. More than anything, they looked happy and convinced about what they were doing. This poster lacks that,’’ said a police source. Armed men in the recent poster looked sombre, unlike Wani, whose youthful looks and words attracted many to armed insurgency in the KashmirValley.
Officials also said that Wani never used masks, was clean-shaven and had power of persuasion whose words hit the right notes with educated folks who then became convinced they had to join the ‘holy’ war.
