Karnataka Transport Corporation employees on strike, Ramalinga Reddy warns to take stringent action

Bengaluru, July 23: State Minister for Transport, Ramalinga Reddy on Saturday ruled out another round of talks with State Transport Employees’ Union regarding the state-wide strike called from Sunday midnight.
Speaking to mediapersons, Reddy warned of stringent action against the employees affiliated to the union if they go on strike, which would hamper the commuting of general public, as reported by newskarnataka.com.
The government is firm on its stand and will certainly do the best to the employees as government always stood behind them in terms of their welfare, he said.
The government will make all sorts of alternative arrangements in public interest in case the union will not bow down to government’s proposals, Reddy added.
The meeting between the Chief Minister and the State transport Unions on Friday failed to yield any result. Nearly 1.2 lac employees attached to four divisions, KSRTC, BMTC, NWRTC and NERTC have decided to go off roads from Sunday mid night itself. There are about 23 thousand buses attached to the said four divisions together.
