MP Home minister Bhupendra Singh :Supernatural ghost and apparitions caused farmer suicides in MP

Bhopal July 22:The bizarre reasoning of politicians on their ability that they come up with reasons and excuses for events occurring is rib-ticking. In a series of statements by Madhya Pradesh Home minister Bhupendra Singh has conveniently put the blame on supernatural ghosts and beings for the apparent suicides of farmers in MP and not lack of rain or economic troubles.

He later clarifies that this is not the government statement but what victims’ families claim.

In a written reply in the state Assembly on Wednesday, Singh had  listed ‘ghosts’  and not crop loss among the reasons which were driving farmers to suicides.

Clarifying, the minister said today that the “written reply to the MLA was based on police information of statements made by the relatives of the deceased farmers”.

The remarks caused uproar in the Assembly with the opposition Congress seeking clarification if the Shivraj Singh Chouhan government believed in superstition and ghosts

“In some rural pockets, people are freed of influence of spirits by a ritual,” Singh had later said, seeking to clarify his remarks.
