New Delhi July 25:While speaking a Sangh meeting in Kanpur, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat endorsed the Narendra Modi government midway through its term and assured that the Indian nation is in safe hands with several swayamsevaks holding key positions in the government.

The endorsement was to quell any doubt about Sangh’s backing for the NDA regime which has taken important steps to facilitate FDI, that is in line with the ‘swadeshi’ agenda of Sangh affiliates.

Bhagwat said  this while replying to a Kanpur-based trader, who had cited flaws in taxation policy including a cap on gold transactions.

Mohan Bhagwat had a three-hour interaction with 35 intellectuals on July 16, the penultimate day of the week-long Kanpur event.

National executives and pracharaks of RSS also took part in the “baithak” where BJP had limited presence with Ram Lal, Ram Madhav and Saudan Singh in attendance.

He also said that the Sangh need to reach in all part of India and was impressed with Modi and found him popular even among small children. He also expressed alterations in textbooks needed and was long due.
