Say Hello to the new entrant on the Whatsapp stage – font style FixedSys

Chennai, July 20: Mobile messaging application Whatsapp is on the road to adding a new font and glimpses of the new entrant has been spotted on Google Play’s beta program by several Android and iOS beta users. The font which bears a name similar to the Windows version of the font – FixedSys is the only different font available as of now.
Using the font requires a bit of patience and requires the user to put three grave accent symbol (`) before and after a word or a sentence which you wish to see in the new font. For example typing “`Butter“` will display the word Butter in the new font.
Whatsapp has been introducing a host of features to add to users experience of the app. These include ‘Mention’ and ‘group invite link’ as some of the options in the offing for users. Typing in bold and quoting a person’s message are some of the features currently available.
Whatsapp had recently introduced full encryption on its platform, wherein all chat conversations were now secure and no third-party can read or listen to these conversations. There are also whispers of new features such as support of GIFs and the much awaited video calls.
