The Toyota Innova Cyrsta petrol variant has been spied in India, launch could happen unexpectedly

New Delhi, August 5: The petrol version of the highly popular premium people carrier would help Toyota cover the very important NCR market where sales of the diesel Innova is banned.
The Delhi diesel ban has managed to create an anti-diesel sentiment not only in the NCR region but also in the other regions of the country. The reducing gap between petrol and diesel fuel prices also make the Innova Crysta petrol an attractive proposition for a certain segment of customers.
The Innova Crysta petrol will be powered by a 2.7-litre four-cylinder engine that is available in international markets like the Middle East and Indonesia. The motor which will be available either with a 6-speed manual or an automatic transmission has 166 PS and 245 Nm of torque in store.
The petrol engine is expected to carry forward the same trim levels as the 2.4-litre diesel engine. Automatic transmission is expected to be offered in GX and VX grades. The petrol Innova is estimated to be around INR 1 lakh cheaper than the 2.4-litre diesel model.

The Toyota Innova Cyrsta petrol variant has been spied in India, indicating that launch could happen any day from now. Production of the petrol variant is reported to have commenced in mid-July.
