Women, Ignore Cuss Words Hurled at You; They Only Show Men Are Jealous

Women-Ignore-Cuss-Words-Hurled-at-You-They-Only-Show-Men-Are-Jealous

Women have always been blamed for anything and everything that is not acceptable to human society. Though a woman  runs the household for her man, cooks and cleans for him, caters to his sexual passions, bears him children, yet ironically  she never gets her dues for the all the hard work. She is generally taken for granted by those around her. Should she protest, she would be admonished and reminded that she was performing her duty, nothing beyond.

It is puzzling as to why  women  are always assailed by their character for their smallest faux pas or oversight. Since the dawn of civilization, society  has always condemned the Woman for getting attracted towards the opposite sex. Things get worse if she develops a sexual relationship with a Man–before marriage or alongside a marriage. Surprisingly men enjoy  all the impunity even if  they get involved  in such  sexual  adventures.

For not adhering to the table of values a woman’s persona   is re-defined by ugly  cuss words. The most repulsive ones include ‘whore’  “harlot’ and prostitute. Etymologically whore’ has is derived from the Germanic word horaz, which means ‘the one who desires’. Obviously women are forbidden to fulfill their carnal desires, while men can indulge in them!  Equivalents of the word in other languages all signify sexual behavior unacceptable to society. Down the ages the onus was always on women to uphold the moral fabric of society while mercilessly crushing their innate desires.

The current and widely acceptable meaning of the word is the one who has sex for money. The word whore, has survived because it has been amply used in literature. Shakespeare, for instance, used the word and its derivatives nearly  a 100 times in his works. Worldwide, in  traditional, patriarchal societies  women  who revolted, stood their ground and  opted for  sexual  freedom  posed  a threat to virtuous’ women and their families, besides  infusing a sense of insecurity among them. Hence they were referred to as Women of easy virtue or alternatively as ‘Whores’ Through the passage of years a yawning abyss was created, between ‘whores’ and others.

In common parlance the word ‘whore’ is used by a woman’s brothers and even parents in case she brings e dishonour to the family. It may be used by both sexes for a woman who – because of her successful career and high social status – makes them feel inferior. It could even an expression of anger and resentment against the woman for refusing to bow before him and obey him as was the norm through the ages.

The word ‘whore’ was coined aeons ago. But the times have changed; women of today are more forthcoming and assertive regarding their sexuality and relationship with men. Most of them openly come forward to fulfill their desires and  passions. They decide for themselves what they want- an emotional relationship or  a commercial one. The choice is theirs.  Instead of bothering about  cuss words women  must realize that they merely expose filthy, morbid mindset of their male counterparts.
