Pakistani Online Campaign post images of celebrities with pellet shots in an attempt to highlight dangers of its use

Delhi, July 26: Pakistan based society ‘Never forget Pakistan’ has started an online campaign to highlight the dangers of using pellets with a focus in its extensive use in the recent Kashmir unrest. The campaign features photo-shopped images of PM Narendra Modi, Mark Zuckerberg as well as actors Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Aishwarya Rai, Kajol and many others.
The series of images are titled ‘What if you knew the Victim? #IndiaCantSee #LetKashmirDecide’
In the album the image of each personality is marked with pellet injuries and carries a letter of someone actually suffered by the rubber pellets. The letter attempts to wring out an emotional appeal urging these celebrities to speak out against the use of these pellets on people in Kashmir valley.
The use of these rubber pellets as one of the ‘non lethal weapons’ in the recent Kashmir unrest by the security forces has kicked up an furore on the use of these weapons as they are capable of inflicting serious damage and maiming victims.
Atleast 100 people are reported to have sustained severe eye injuries with many of them being unassuming children who were nowhere near the protestors. PM Narendra Modi directed the authorities to send teams of qualified doctors, particularly trauma experts and eye specialists to Kashmir to help with the crisis. A team of doctors were rushed to Srinagar to assist the local health service officials.
