Untraceable by cops, but smiling for the camera, Dayashankar spotted at temple

Lucknow, July 27: Photographs have emerged of Mr Dayashankar Singh standing with local BJP leaders and praying at a famous temple dedicated to Lord Shiva in Deogarh in Jharkhand. The MP who has an arrest warrant against him for his sexist slur against the BSP chief Mayawati was seen posing for photographs in front of the temple in Deogargh. Uttar Pradesh police are said to be trying to locate him for more than a week.
The sexist comment which caused a furore in the Parliament and saw many leaders condemning the misogynist remark also led to the BJP expelling him from the party for the next 6 years.
Mayawati minced no words in an forthright speech warning that if Mr Singh were not severely dealt with, Dalits, the caste that she belonged to, would erupt in protests across the country. The very next morning saw a huge gathering of workers from the BSP fold which dispersed only upon her urging to do so.
Dayashankar’s appearance at the Jharkhand temple was cited by as evidence of the government’s disinterest in punishing Mr Singh. The BSP Supremo has said that feels betrayed by the Uttar Pradesh government which had assured her that Mr Singh would be arrested within 36 hours.
