Socialising app Milofy enters India for couples by launching itself in four metros

BENGALURU, March14: Accel Partnersbacked couple socialising app Milofy has entered the India market by launching in four cities —Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Chennai.
Milofy which was first launched in New York in September last year, helps couples discover and socialise with like-minded couples based on their personality and interests and explore local curated activities like comedy shows, theatre plays and music concerts among others. Milofy founder Arshya Lakshman told ETtech the key challenge in matching couples is ensuring all the four people get along well, for which they use various signals like couple personalities, values, field of work and travel preferences among others to match the couples.

“In Tinder, I match you and your wife but on Milofy, I am matching four people. Hence its quite possible that two people will get along and other two might not get along. So, we are currently focused on how to ensure all four people get along well,” Lakshman said.
For events, Milofy has tiedup with event aggregators like Eventbrite and Events High. It is also in talks with several Indian partners to offer activities to couples around their location.

Lakshman said they arelisting activities on their platform for free as of now but they plan to eventually take a commission on the activities booked from its platform in the future.

 Milofy which raised seed funding from Accel Partners in April 2015, plans to also enable couples host events and invite other couples in coming weeks. The company claims to have more than 400 couples on its platform and has teams in New York, Chennai and Bengaluru.
