SBT customers could continue using their old checkbooks until September 30

Cheque books of six banks to go invalid from September 30: Notifies State Bank of India

Thiruvananthapuram/Kerala, July 6: The Cheques of the merged SBT which is now SBI, could be used until September 30, an official said. Meanwhile, customers can continue using the SBT Passbook.  SBT had informed earlier that the PassBook and chequebook could be used only until June 30. Those who need a new chequebook must give a special application at the bank. Passbooks can also be requested similarly.

Those who have SBT account are also instructed to collect the SBI cheque book check book, on or before September 30. But there is no need to return the old SBT chequebook for this. SBI officials say that about half of SBT customers have already got their chequebook. SBT has been merged with SBI from April 1, 2017.
