‘Even a prostitute fulfills her commitment after she is paid, But Mayawati didn’t ‘- Saying UP BJP’s Vice President

Lucknow, July 20: With the key Uttar Pradesh elections just around the corner, the BJP took things to another level today in bad-mouthing political opponents.
Their vice president in UP, Daya Shankar Singh called former state chief minister and BSP supremo Mayawati “worse than a prostitute” on camera.
“Even a prostitute fulfills her commitment after she is paid. But Mayawati sells party tickets to anyone who paid her the highest amount. If someone gives her Rs 1 crore for a ticket she will give it to other person who is offering Rs 2 crore,” Singh said.
“Mayawati has become worse than a prostitute and abandons the ideals of Kanshi Ram,” he said.

The BJP leader also claimed that the party will win over 300 seats in the upcoming Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections. The party should definitely be more concerned about the kind of people it appoints as its UP unit’s vice-president.
Prasad’s remark against Mayawati came on the same day when the BSP supremo blamed the Centre for “rising incidents of atrocities against the Dalits” in the Parliament. Mayawati had raised the issue of four Dalit youths being beaten up in public and parading them in Una town in Gujarat by cow protection vigilantes. She made these claims in Rajya Sabha.
“Since the BJP-led government has come to power (at the Centre), the Dalits are being exploited at different levels. There are several incidents, and this reflects the narrow and casteist mindset of this party towards these groups,” Mayawati had said.
The BJP has been overflowing with overconfidence ever since their large mandate in the 2014 elections. This overconfidence has manifested itself with their “fringe elements” (many of whom are actually members of Parliament) mouthing off ridiculous statements in public.
This time the BJP is caught in a three-cornered fight in UP (with BSP and Samajwadi Party). The important election could easily serve as a referrendum for 2019. After the recent drubbing in Bihar, it would be a test for the political strategy of the Modi-Shah axis.
